Continuous glucose monitoring system "CGM" :
This is a game changer in the world of diabetes for sure. Currently, there's only a few companies that make CGMs, but we're guessing more will be joining the market soon. It's an amazing tool. CGMs are small devices connected to your body. It checks your blood sugar every few minutes, sending the information to your insulin pump or a receiver. The device then displays a graph letting you know where your blood sugar is, and where it has been for the last 24 hours. They're not 100% accurate, but it is a great piece of mind for diabetics that are challenged with low sugar levels.

Dexcom's CGM is the most versatile CGM on the market. It's intergraded to work with Tandem and Animas insulin pumps, or you can use it as a stand alone product with their receiver. Their latest gadget is called a G5, which enables you to see your information on your IPhone! |
